The top photo to the Right feature's one of REEF's giving Reefs. The Giving Reef is comprised of different sized coral and fish with name plaques in order to acknowledge generous supporters of REEF. During my internship, I helped put one of the Giving REEF's together as well as assisted in a project to give thanks to these supporters.

The second photo to the right is a photo that I took while diving at Molasses Reef in Key Largo. I have included this photo because I used it for a social media post for REEF. I designed different social media posts throughout my internship as well as created a video to thank all of our members for all our different projects.

COURSES

Valuable courses I took at the University of Utah:

PRT 5480 Business of PRT:

Course description: "This course examines the quantitative approach to the "real world" of business and how to succeed. The class will analyze and review all important business principles and practices that are commonly used or misused in business ventures. These principles and analytical techniques are used in all business ventures including commercial recreation, tourism, and hospitality enterprise planning and management. Students will engage in the development of a business model, which includes conceptualization, regulatory analysis, market analysis, location analysis, financial analysis, and recommended strategy. Powerpoint presentations will be given to review and detail each topic. "

PRT 3320: Recreation Programming and Leadership:

Course Description: "Development and leadership of park, recreation, and tourism programs and services and facilitation of experiences of visitors and recreationists.

This course will offer a theoretical and applied understanding of leadership and programming within the various fields related to parks, recreation, and tourism. Students will explore personal leadership styles, program planning and preparation, and activity implementation through individual and collaborative learning experiences. Upon completion of this course, students will have a Special Event Program Planning Portfolio that reflects the many theoretical and logistical elements that comprise parks, recreation, and tourism planning."

Final project description: "Each group will plan, implement, and (to the extent possible) evaluate a special event during the semester.  In conjunction, groups will complete a Special Event Program Plan Portfolio to document your efforts."

I've included a downloadable version of my final project from this course because I am proud of it, also because this project is actually something I would like to pursue.

Check out my final project for PRT 5480

The SEPPP project, which, I was apart of for this course was the largest project I participated in during my time at the University of Utah and I decided to include a glimpse of what it looked like here because I believe it was very successful.
