Thank you for visiting my site! Here on this page I have shared some blog posts about different marketing techniques.

AIDA Evaluation of a Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Website

In this Blog post I will evaluate a good example of a PRT website that meets the AIDA. You may be asking what is AIDA? AIDA stands for attention/awareness, Interest, desire, and action. It is important and to your greatest benefit to make sure that the marketing materials you create meet AIDA, because it will keep your reader interested, aware, keep their attention, and make them want to come back to your site.  Websites that don’t meet all the different aspects of the AIDA lose the interest of readers quickly, and don’t serve any useful purpose. If you don’t have the interest of readers, you can’t sell them anything!

Since I am studying sustainable tourism I am going to evaluate a very popular and successful sustainable tourism operator called G Adventures. Another reason why I am choosing this company’s website to evaluate is because I love the layout of their website and I think they are a very good example of meeting all the different components of the AIDA.

So you know what I am talking about I have provided a Link to their website: G adventures. And also a screenshot of their homepage below.

Above is a screenshot of the top of the G adventures homepage. Immediately when you go to the G Adventure’s site you see this.

Attention/Awareness: For me when I first see this image and the caption “There’s an amazing planet out there,” it defiantly grabs my attention off the bat. The image is beautiful and draws me in, and the caption makes me want to read more about what G adventures is all about. The caption also makes me aware that this website is probably a tour operator or booking company.

Interest: When you Scroll down a little more on the homepage you come to this Gorilla picture with the caption “Get Inspired.” Wow good job G adventures with this one. I was already drawn in by the first image but now I am very interested and curious as to what they mean by “get inspired.”

Desire: Also on this part of the Homepage under “Get inspired” it reads, “Stoke your wanderlust with these handpicked itineraries from our roster of trips. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning. So, where to next?” With the hook “stoke your wanderlust” I think “yeah I want to Stoke my Wanderlust!” I am salivating to read more.

Action: G Adventures homepage also does a nice job of having a call to action. In this section of the homepage they are telling the reader to “read all about it” and “read on.” Also above they said “get inspired” and “stoke your wanderlust.”

Overall good job G adventures! I loved reading about what G Adventures provides, and it made me want to book a trip! As you can see meeting all the components of AIDA is important and using this skill can help capture your reading and in end sell your product.
